The Babbling Brook Golf News
The Club Championship went over well even though Mother Nature decided to show her face for about two hours Sunday morning. Luckily we had the British Open to occupy the time. Once we got back out things ran smoothly. The flight winners were as follows:
Men’s Championship - Jim Stangel A Flight - John Falk B Flight - Denny Proffitt C Flight - Dick Douville D Flight - Don Hinrichs
Ladies Championship - Melanie Wiezbiskie A Flight - Chelsea Novinska B Flight - Ann Oxley
The over all club championship was quite a tournament. Sunday brought Todd Westrich and Jim Stangel, two of NorthBrook's seasoned veterans, up against Nate Kollath and Matt Martin, two of NorthBrook's baby boomers. After the morning rounds only Todd and Matt were still in it. What a match it was with lead changes around every hole. The match went 20 holes before Todd won with a birdie on No. 2.
The last jamboree also went well with Todd Westrich, Melanie Novinska, Jim Davis, and Francine Davis taking first place. Jim Davis also took home the honors of having the low net score for the tournament. If you are interested in playing in the next jamboree it will be held September 12th. Stick around after to enjoy some company and the Packers-Eagles game.
If it’s not enough that Todd won the overall club championship and was on the last winning jamboree team he also won the Brown County Amateur.
For those that don’t know this year is Northbrook’s 40th birthday. We would like to invite you to come celebrate it on Sunday, August 29th. There will be discounted golf ($5 for nine holes) and a cook out with discounted beer and soda. If you are not a golfer and you want to see the golf course, we will be giving tours of the course upon request. So come on out and enjoy the day with us.

If you still enjoy the pleasure of a good smoke don't dispair. Smoking, as you probibly know, is now not allowed in any public building in Wisconsin. We have refubished the deck off the main lounge and it is now open for smokers; not a bad view either. Enjoy NorthBrook and enjoy a smoke on our new deck as well!
With the Summer upon us we now have a number of large corporate or charity golf outings. With some of these we will have to close the dining room to the public to accommodate these large groups. As of now these closed dates are as follows: Monday, August 9 and Monday, August 23. Please, with the busy summer ahead, call ahead with dinner reservations to avoid any disappointments.
We are planning a nice celebration for all to enjoy for our 40th anniversery. It Will be Sunday, August 29th. Included will be discounted golf, a number of 40 cent and $1.40 food and drink specials, free cake and door prizes. Join us, it's not just for golfers. If you've never seen our golf course, we will have our people giving course tours for your enjoyment. Come on out and help us celebrate. More details to follow!
